The Bullmastiff is a very large, very muscular dog. Since the ban has been placed on owning one of these dogs and because there are almost no breeders left, according to the ASPCA, there has only been one attack by this breed in the last three years. Twenty years ago, the number of attacks was in the thousands. The reason for the ban was due to the increasing number of attacks on humans, especially children. Because this dog is so dangerous, it has been banned in several countries including the UK, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Hong Kong, Australia, and many others. ![]() This is a very dangerous breed of dog as it is known to be a fighting dog. In 2016, an elderly man in Jacksonville, Florida was attacked by a pack of stray dogs, and at least one of them was identified as a Cocker Spaniel. According to JAVMA’s study, the Cocker Spaniel has been responsible for over 59 fatal attacks over the last 25 years. Because of this, poorly trained dogs tend to attack. At first glance, and if he is trained and treated well, he makes a great and lovable family pet. It is very surprising, but this dog actually belongs on this list. As with any dog, it is the owner’s responsibility to make sure that their dog is loved, properly trained, and properly cared for. In 2011, a three year old boy was mauled by a Labrador, which resulted in very serious facial injuries. Of that number 17 were children.Īlso, this breed is responsible for causing one death during this time period. According to the Merritt Clifton Dog Bite Statistics, between 19, there were 56 attacks that resulted in serious injury. If these dogs are not properly trained and treated well, however, they can be very dangerous. The Labrador is generally a friendly, easy going, and lovable dog. Most of the dogs on this list were also found in the final results of the study. That said, The Journal of the American Veterinary Association ( JAVMA) conducted a study that took place over 20 years to determine which breeds were the most dangerous based on bite fatalities. Under the right conditions, the dogs on this list can be loving, happy, family pets. It just means that if they are treated poorly, they will be more likely to become aggressive than other breeds of dog. This doesn’t mean in any way that these breeds are going to turn into aggressive dogs with a mean streak. That being said, there are some breeds of dog who are more prone to aggressive behavior than others. The way that a dog turns out depends on how the dog is raised, how he is treated, and his living conditions. ![]() In some dogs, the brindle is so dominant it gives the appearance of being black. It is hard to say that there are specific breeds of dogs that are dangerous. Your boxer is a very heavy brindle (reverse brindle)īrindle boxers are basically fawn colored with black stripes. When breeds are mixed, certain genes can be inherited, like the gene that causes the black color. ![]() It has been known to happen that somewhere down the line a boxer was bred with a mixed-breed dog and her puppies still have that boxer look. If you own a boxer that appears to be black in color, there are two possible explanations for this: Your boxer is not purebred ![]() The color gene responsible for a dog being black does not exist within the breed. In the boxer community, this can be a cause for argument, but the fact remains that it is genetically impossible for a boxer to be black in color. I’ve even seen breeders who advertise ‘rare black boxer dogs’ and sell them for outrageous prices.īut here’s the truth: Black boxer dogs don’t actually exist. Many people have made claims to owning black boxer dogs. Photo by Jackal1 Do Black Boxer Dogs Exist?
